Connection
I remember standing in one of the most remote locations in Spiti, India, amidst the Himalayan ranges, to witness one of the clearest sightings of the Milky Way. As I was finishing up the shot in the freezing sub-zero temperatures, I had a self-realization that this is what I always want to do for the rest of my life. I felt connected to the moment and the process of creating a photograph. After that experience, it took me two years of constant searching for a landscape that would complement the grandeur of the Milky Way, so that my artistic vision could be portrayed. It was in the valleys of Zanskar where I finally found the perfect subject - a beautiful curved hills. I knew instantly that it was what I had been searching for all these years. Finally, the connection between the celestial and terrestrial was made and the circle we call life was complete. The galaxy represents the infinite possibilities that exist in the universe, while the valley serves as a reminder of the intricate and delicate balance that exists in nature. "Connection" as a whole is a symbol of the unity of all things, and the interconnectedness that lies at the heart of the universe.

Shikaras
Shikara is a go-to method of transport for the people of Srinagar, to travel in and around the floating markets on the shores of Dal Lake. It was a chilly winter evening of February when I took my first ride, I was so excited since I had been planning to make this trip happen for many years and experience it in its most authentic form, and here I was doing that, Finally. Towards the end, as we approached the shore it started to drizzle which in fact was a perfect ending to my experience.

Path To Paradise
The land of Kashmir also goes by the name "Paradise on Earth", because it offers terrain of every kind, be it massive landscapes, amazing valleys, or scenic lakes and waterfalls. Among them, one of the most famous lakes is Dal Lake in Srinagar, the capital of Kashmir. It usually is a busy place during the evening as people come here to watch the sunset and take rides on these boats called Shikara, however, on this fine day I was fortunate to witness it in total calmness. In this state of peace, I found this wooden path that piqued my interest, inviting me to the view of paradise.

Somewhere in the woods
A couple of minutes before I found myself in the middle of a snow blizzard, it was a clear sky with snow all around. How this winter evening in Kashmir turned into a blinding landscape of white is a mystery. While I tried to find a place to cover myself from the heavy gusts of wind, this cozy cabin appeared out of nowhere. I couldn’t go in because I had to get back to the base as it was getting dark, however, the memory of that home in the middle of nowhere has stayed with me.

Winter Odyssey
The series Winter Odyssey is a narrative of 40 images put together to portray the purity, grief, and separation of Kashmir, which is usually regarded as paradise on earth. These photographs were taken shortly after the city was released from a long curfew, a tragic period in which individuals were confined to their homes and isolated from the entire world. The series took two months to curate, with special attention paid to the smallest of details in each shot in order to convey the notion that no matter how attractive a place is, it has a narrative of underlying melancholy. With all the colors that nature has to offer, Kashmir appears to be a tantalizing dream, yet this series concentrated on white and blue where white signifies nature's purity and blue indicates despair. Color and concept were carefully considered, with each element of the image displaying emotions. The atmosphere in the images depicts the chaos and uncertainty hidden beneath the beauty. Every image tells a tale through its tones, by showing the shift from the color of uncertainty to the color of hope. This color of hope closes the series on an optimistic note suggesting that even after the darkest of circumstances, there will always be a new ray of hope.
